Hi Pat

Thanks for your kind offer, but I already have a copy of her story so please don't go looking for it. My Gran was Florence Millicent Kirk married to Eric Percy Crozier. Flo was the daughter of James Harrison KIRK and Harriet POLLOCK. James in turn was the son of Robert William KIRK and Elizabeth Ann STEPHENSON. Her father was James Harrison STEPHENSON and his wife was I think Caroline Helena Unknown. Elizabeth had a brother names William Henry.

I have no idea how or when Robert William KIRK arrived in SA and he may even have been born here in abt 1826. Suspect they are of Scottish descent

Robert William and Elizabeth Ann had 5 children:

1. Robert William Stephenson KIRK who married Rebecca Barnes USHER and had 9 children.

2. James Harrison who married the above Harriet and they had 13 children of whom my Gran was the 11th child of whom one died at the age of 3. This was the Transkei family! Their son Oliver Charles never married and had a trading store where from family stories it seems he was murdered by the very people he had always loved and helped.

3. Elizabeth Ann who never married and died at age 31.

4. Joseph Parker who married Ada Thomasina WOOD (no relative to my George WOOD family). They had three children.

5. Charles Edward who married Johanna Gertruida Franciena Strydom and had 5 children.

I suspect that Robert William KIRK and Adam KIRK are brothers but cannot prove it yet. Adam Alexander KIRK married Martha Jane WEBBER.

If there is any info in the book or if anyone has anything on these folk, all info would be appreciated.
