~MY ANCESTOR~ JOSEPH PECK was believed to have immigrated on the ship, HECTOR, with his brothers, WILLIAM PECK (also my ancestor), and Henry arriving in 1636. Their parents are unknown but may have been ROBERT & ANN (LAWRENCE) PECK who came from Beccles, Co. Suffolk, England but settled in Hingham, Norfolk, Eng. where Joseph was born. Joseph & William are found in New Haven records and it appears that Joseph went on to Milford while William stayed in New Haven. Joseph was an "after planter" which means that he came to Milford after the first division of land. He married ALICE (HEATH) BURWELL, widow of John Burwell, on Sept. 12, 1650 in Milford. They were parents of my ancestor, LIEUT. JOSEPH PECK, whose tombstone is in the Milford Cemetery.

Joseph Peck, born 22 April 1610 England, died 26 February 1700/1 Milford, Ct. Freeman. Joseph married 1st, 12 September 1650 Milford, Ct. to Alice (Heath) Burwell, widow of John Burwell. Alice died 19 Dec 1666 Milford, Ct. Joseph married 2nd Mary Richards, daughter of Thomas Richards of Waterbury, Ct. She was admitted to the church in Milford 26 Nov 1669. He was admitted to the Milford Church in May of 1652. Joseph was first in New Haven, admitted freeman, then removed to Milford.
