Joseph Place

Biography

Joseph Place was born in 1665 in South Kingstown, Washington County, Rhode Island, United States. His parents were Enoch Place, Sr. and Sarah (...) Place. He was a Farmer.

Joseph married Joannah Place on November 9, 1698 in Kingston, Washington, Rhode Island, United States. Together they had the following children: John Place; Enoch Place; George Place; Peter Place; Nathan Place; Hannah Place.

He died circa 1735 in Glocester, Providence County, Colony of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations.

1720, October- Freeman of Providence (Glocester), RI.

1730/1, February 11- Jospeh Place of Providence (Glocester), RI testified in South Kingstown, RI that he knew of a certain piece of land for "these 22 years and upwards."

Joseph Place married Joannah (Born in 1679/80 in Suffolk, Massachusetts). Joseph seemed to take possession of the farm, as on Mar. 17, 1716/7, Joseph Place and wife Joanna deeded to Daniel McCoon (the second husband of Sarah Place Cook) 100 acres, reserving 3 rods square "where father Enoch Place is buried." This farm was located about 1 mile west of what is now known as Wickford, RI.
