After the death of Hannah, he married Martha Grout, daughter of Edward & Martha (Flagg) Grout, in 1758 - their children were Martha, Rachel & Stephen

Joseph Sargent, 1st child of Joseph Sargent and Hanna L. Buckman, was b. July 6,1716; m. Jan. 20,1746/7 with HANNAH WHITTEMORE (b. May 13,1724; d. in 1757, dau. of Daniel); he m. 2nd, in 1758, with MARTHA GROAT; they res. in Leicester; d. Mar. 26,1802.

Children by Hannah were: Joseph (1747), Daniel (1750), Hannah (1754), and Joseph (1757).

Children by Martha were: Patty (1759), Rachel (1761), and Stephen (1762).
