Joseph Donald Schretzman

Joseph was born the son of the late Charles and Margaret (Flynn) Schretzman. For 31 years, he protected the citizens of New York as a firefighter (first grade) with the New York City Fire Department. He retired from Ladder Company 112 in 1993. A devout Catholic, Mr. Schretzman was a member of Holy Family parish in Newark. He greatly enjoyed swimming at the YMCA and remained an avid sports fan throughout his life, especially of his favorite team, the New York Mets. His beloved wife, Judith (Madigan) Schretzman, preceded him in death in 2007. He is survived by 5 children, Joseph T. Schretzman of Buffalo, NY; Robert E. Schretzman of Chicago, IL; Nancy M. Sharkey of Arlington, VA; Diane J. Mortimer of Rochester, NY; and Donald J.
