OSEPH S. LEE DIES AT 85, SERVICES SET FOR THURS.,APRIL 17

Joseph Selmer Lee, age 85 years, 4 days, of Hayfield, died Monday, April 14, 1975, at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, of a heart condition. He had been hospitalized for about a week but had been in poor health for several months.

Joseph Lee was born in Hayfield Township, Dodge County, Minnesota, April 10, 1890, the son of Ole N. and Maria Tennefos) Lee. He was baptized April 27, 1890 by Rev. H. N. Ronning, and was confirmed in the Cedar Creek Lutheran Church, Hayfield, by the Rev. Jens C. Roseland. He was married to the former Augusta M. Benson in 1915 in Hayfield by the Rev. Axel Shefveland. She died October 13, 1959. June 14, 1962, he was married to the former Judith Dahle at Trinity Lutheran Church, Hayfield, by Rev. Myrwood Bagne. He was a Chicago Great Western Railroad Company employee, retiring in 1954. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Hayfield.

Survivors include his wife, Judith; one son, Merlin, of Zumbrota, 4 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; two brothers, John and Edward, both of Hayfield; three sisters, Ida and Martha Lee, both of Hayfield, and Mrs. Mabel Hjelle of St. Paul.

Preceding him in death was one son, Adolph; 4 brothers, Nels, Martin, Carl and Melvin; one sister, Mrs. Anna Berg.

Funeral services for Joseph Lee will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 17, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Hayfield, Rev. Myrwood Bagne officiating. The organist will be Mrs. Douglas Matti and the congregation will sing two hymns.

Spring burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Hayfield.

The family prefers memorials directed to Trinity Lutheran Church, Hayfield or radio station WCAL Northfield.

Friends may call at the Cole Funeral Home, Hayfield, after 2 p.m. Wednesday, and Thursday until noon,and at the church one hour before the services.
