About Joseph Smith, Convict Fortune 06
Joseph was convicted at either the Old Bailey [delivery 13 Jan 1802] or at Warwick on 10 Aug 1805 and given a 14 year sentence. Two convicts called Joseph Smith arrived on the ship 'Fortune' in 1806. He was granted 50 acres by Macquarie in 1820.
He died at Liverpool hospital, having had his leg amputated after being thrown from a cart.
