About Joseph K Snavely
Joseph K. Snavely, a highly esteemed resident of Palmyra for approximately thirty-two years, died Tuesday morning at 8:45 o'clock at the home a daughter, Mrs. Harry Fasnacht, of Union Deposit, following a three weeks illness of complication of diseases. Mr. Snavely became ill while visiting at the Fasnacht home. He had his home with a son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Morris Lingle, 23 North Grant Street, Palmyra. Had he lived until Friday he would have attained his eighty-seventh birthday. Mr. Snavely was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Snavely. He was engaged as a farmer in the vicinity of Union Deposit prior to taking residence in Palmyra where he was engaged as a factory worker. He was a faithful member of the First United Brethren Sunday school and church of Palmyra. His wife, the late Mary Wagner Snavely, died seven years ago. One son, Harry, also preceded him in death. Included in the survivors are two sons and two daughters, Albert W., of Hershey; Conrad, of Lebanon; Mrs. Harry Fasnacht, of Union Deposit, and Mrs. Morris Lingle, of Palmyra; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren. One brother, Jacob Snavely, of Elizabethtown, and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Weaver and Mrs. Fianna Hummel, of Hummelstown, also survive.
