Joseph D. Troyer passed tn his home Monday Oct 19, 1896 at 11:30 P. M Aged 56 yrs. 7 mos. He was born in Holmes county, Ohio, moved to Ind, thence to Mich, thence to Plattsmouth, Neb and thence here in 1889. He was married to Miss Martha Hershberger in Ohio to them were born 9 children, Eli F born Aug 31, 1864, who died Dec 13, 1865; Elizabeth C aged 30 years; Abigail aged 28; Annie M aged 25;Lydia E aged 23; William H aged 20; Mattie M aged 18; Albert D aged 14; Joseph E aged 11; the last 5 named are still at home; there are 10 grand children.
The nature of his final illness was not fully agreed upon, being termed liver spine and kidney trouble. Funeral services and burial today at the Amish Mennonite church at 2 P. M of which he was a consistent number, He suffered long but is now out of pain, while general sympathy is accounted the morning relatives.
