Joe F. Vetter died Sunday, November 18, 2007 at Medcenter One, Bismarck, North Dakota. Burial in St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery, Linton, North Dakota
Joe married Agnes Berger on April 4, 1964 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Mandan, North Dakota. Following their marriage, they farmed for 16 years. He retired in 1980 and moved into Linton, North Dakota. Joe worked for NoDak Apartments for several years. He was instrumental in getting the Linton Country Club started. Joe was the master mind behind "Big Joes" in Hazelton, North Dakota.
He was a former member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, which he helped maintain. He served on the St. Anthony's Church Council and was School Clerk for country schools. Joe was an honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus, Emmons County Wildlife Club and the Linton Jaycees.
He enjoyed bowling, tilling gardens, golfing, attending high school sports events, and most of all spending time with his two grandchildren.
Joe is survived by his wife, Agnes of Linton, one daughter and son-in-law: Laura and Lonnie Schiermester of Hazelton, North Dakota.
And two grandchildren, DeLons and Kristina of Hazelton, North Dakota.
Joe is also survived by four brothers and three sisters-in-law: Leo Vetter and Special Friend, Etta of Bismarck, North Dakota; Frank and Gwen Vetter of Florida; Tony and Sandy Vetter of Albany, Minnesota; and Tim and Linda Vetter of Wahpeton, North Dakota; three sisters and one brother-in-law: Eugenia "Jean" Schumacher, Virginia Vetsch and Mary and Leo Hulm, all of Linton, North Dakota.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one infant son, DeLons, two brothers-in-law: Deacon Martin Schumacher and Willlie Vetsch; and one sister-in-law: Clementina Vetter.
