Biography

Joseph Wesson was born to Thomas and Elizabeth Wesson May 7, 1698, in Reading, Massachusetts.[1]

Joseph married Sarah about 1722, based on their first known child born in September 1723. No sources have been found to show this marriage. His wife, Sarah ,may have been Sarah West, but no quality sources found so far show their marriage.

Joseph and his wife Sarah had four children:[2]

Sarah, born September 19, 1723, Reading, Massachusetts[1], baptized 8 Oct 1723 in the part of Reading that became Wakefield.
Joseph, baptized Feb 28, 1725, Wakefield, Massachusetts; possibly the Joseph, son of Joseph and Sarah Wesson, who died at age 4, September 29, 1759, at Falmouth, Maine.[3]
Thomas, baptized February 26, 1727, Wakefield
Josiah, baptized December 22, 1728, Wakefield
Joseph's death information has not yet been found. He may have died in Falmouth, Maine, but that is uncertain.

Research Notes

According to one source, Joseph may have married Sarah Weston, daughter of John Weston/Wesson and Mary (Milk) Weston. Perley says that their daughter, Sarah, married Joseph Wesson of Reading (but cites no sources).[4]

A Joseph Weston married a Hannah Vickery in Falmouth, Maine, May 18, 1746.[5] Was this the same Joseph? And was his spouse Hannah (Parker) Weston (1710-)?
