According to Marvin Specter, she had an education, married a lawyer and was active in Shul. She had people over every year to her Sukkah. Marvin remembers this fondly.

Rita Gelman remembers of all of Arthur Specter's siblings Josephine the best. Rita would stay over night at her house, there was a little room with a pine tree outside. "They lived in a big house for the time, well big to me". Rita was the youngest cousin. Everyone looked after Rita, being that she was the youngest.
