Joshua C. Lasell, I

Joshua Lazell was born on 17 November 1654 in Hingham, Plymouth County, Massachusetts. He was the son of John Lazell and Elizabeth Gates. Joshua Lazell was christened on 6 May 1655 in Hingham, Plymouth County, Massachusetts. In January 1680/81 Joshua, at age 26, married Mary unknown, in Hingham, Plymouth County, Massachusetts.1,2 In 1686 he was taxed on his land in Mendon. Joshua Lazell died on Saturday, 12 February 1688/89 in Hingham, Plymouth County, Massachusetts, at age 34 years, 2 months and 26 days.

Biography

Joshua was born November 17, 1654, the son of John Lasell and Elizabeth Gates of Hingham, Plymouth, Massachusetts[1] [2]

At the end of January 1680, Joshua married Mary, by the Reverend Peter Hobart. Mary's surname is unknown in these sources[2]. Their children included:

Elizabeth, born December 20, 1681, who married Micajah Dunham on June 26, 1701[2] [3]
Martha, born February 26, 1683, who married Joseph Pratt on March 29, 1703[2] [4]
Joshua, born November 15, 1686, who married Catherine Brown in 1710 and moved to York, Maine[2] [5]
Simon, born September 12, 1688, who married Margaret Cooke in 1716, and then in 1754 he married Joanna (Tilson) Wood[2] [6]
Joshua died February 12, 1688/9[2].
