About Joshua Mecham

Joshua and Permelia Mecham joined the Mormon Church and 4 of their sons as well. These four sons were bodyguards to the Prophet Joseph Smith (Good job boys ;) Parts of Permelia's journal have been found and they include recountings of their joining, what it was like to watch the temple of Nauvoo burn, how it felt to look upon the dead prophet and his brother (hiram?), what it was like being driven from town to town and their travel to Utah by handcart. Her husband, Joshua died on the way and Permelia is buried in Heber City, Utah.
