Biography

Joshua was born in 1690. He was the son of Stephen Tilden and Abigail Clapp. He passed away in 1749.

Probate

His will was dated 10 May 1749 and proved on 17 May 1749 in Plymouth. He mentions his wife Mary, and his children, Joshua, Mary Vinal, Hannah Vinal, Abigail Tilden, and Elizabeth Tilden.[1]

His inventory was recorded on 26 May 1749 in Plymouth.[2]

In 1749, his daughters, Elizabeth and Abigail, both above the age of 14 years made the choice of John Tilden the third of Marshfield to be her guardian.[3]

In 1759, the land that was bequeathed to the daughter, Mary, Hannah, Abigail, and Elizabeth was to be divided. Three of the daughters, Mary, Hannah, and Abigail deceased, it was set off to their heirs.[4]
