From Virginia State Records list, Josiah served in the American Rev Virginia

State Militia, under Capt Samuel KIRKHAM in 1782 and on 22 Oct 1782 as a member of an expedition against the enemy Indians, under Gen CLARK. Served 32 days. Revolution Service Papers say Josiah BOONE Sr was in the Lincoln Militia as Guard serving under Capt Samuel KIRKMAN, VA troops. He was guard duty at the Salt Works under Capt KIRKHAM.
