Josiah & Mary Terril coats were buried in Warren county, Knoxville, Iowa. Giffen was a common surname in this family. The coats' genealogical precedents were Scotch. They went to North Ireland to escape religious persecution, (Mary was a staunch Presbyterian). From there they wwent to Wheeling, W. VA and then on to Zanesville, Ohio, where Elizabeth met and married Jesse Lloyd. They moved to Knoxville, then to Decatur, Iowa.
