About Josiah Graves
He was a private in Captain Vosburgh's Co., 17th Albany Co. Militia, Colonel Whiting's Regiment in the Rev. War from King's District. He moved to Rupert where he was a practicing physician of standing and repute. He was at one time town clerk and afterwards county judge. He was a good-sized man of broad shoulders and plain features, with a dignified and reserved nature.
