Josiah was born about 1695 in Dorchester Co, Maryland. He passed away after 1761, in either Maryland or Delaware. The latter seems most likely.
From Gregory Sweitzer Rootsweb site, quoting Danny Miller: "1697--8 Mar, William Wrotten Senr. and wife Johanna 'in consideration of the natural affection and fatherly love which I [William Sr.] bear unto my beloved sone William Junr...as also for other divers good causes and considerations' give to their son William Wrotten Junr. "Fathers Good Will" "lying on the east side of Chesapeake Bay in a River called Hungar River [on Wroten Island] ... being part of two patents of my island of Stonewick in the foresaid river. " Wit: John Cremeen, Richard North, Richard Tubman (5 Old/ 1 16) [This is the most important deed for us for we use it to determine that Josias/Josiah Wroten our ancestor was the son of William Wroten II. In 1738 Josiah Wroughton sold this land and states that the land was conveyed from William Wroughton Sr. to William Wroughton Junr (and obviously descended to Josiah from William II since there is no deed of sale from William to Josiah). Likewise, John Cremeen, probably his brother-in-law, witnesses this deed to William Wroten II.]"
