With his father Nicholas and others of his family was in the garrison hous at Bogestow Pond in 1676 when King Philip and his warriors met with their "notorious repulse". He served in the war with King Philip. Her sister, Abiel, lived with them at Medfield. The children of Josiah Rockett and Mary Twitchell were

Joshua3 Whitney (Benjamin2, John1), son of Benjamin2 and Jane (-----) Whitney[1] was born 21 Sep 1687, Sherborn, MA,[2] and died 16 Jun 1771, Ware, MA.[3]

Joshua married, 29 Nov 1709, Medfield, MA, Hannah Rockett/Rockwood,[4] daughter of Josiah and Marie (Twitchell) Rockett/Rockwood.[5] She was born 24 Aug 1691, Medfield, MA,[6] and died 8 Aug 1772, Ware, MA.[7]

Joshua Whitney and his wife Hannah were admitted to the chunch, 1 Mar 1752, recommended by Rev. Nathan WEBB of the church in Uxbridge, Woodstock, CT.[9] Joshua Whitney signed the new Church Covenant, 18 Mar 1756, Woodstock, CT.[10]
