About Josiah H. Throop
Josiah Throop was a Revolutionary soldier and is recognized by the DAR.Josiah was exiled from Nova Scotia because of his colonial sympathies. He as an attorney and a surveyor, He first settled on a farm between wht is today Melchoir Park and 2nd ave. on the East side of Kingsborough Ave. His son live there also, and it was there that his grandson Enos. T. Throop was born. Josiah served in Willett Reg't of NY He was referred to as the coronel.
