About Josie Estella (Moffitt) Reaves
REAVES, Mrs. Josie Estella Moffitt, 88, Ripley, died March 5, 1976 in Tippah County Hospital. She was a member of First Baptist church in Ripley, where she taught Sunday School for 40 years, and Ladies Bible Class for 25 years. She was the widow of Oscar Price Reaves. Services were March 6 at 3 pm in McBride Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Ripley Cemetery. Rev Henry Branyan and Bro Harris Counce, Jr officiated. Survivors include four daughters, Miss Ina Mae Reaves, Ripley, Mrs. Elzie Goodman, Walnut, Miss Leone Reaves, Memphis and Mrs. J. C. Threadgill Jr, Natchez; one brother, J. L. Moffitt, Greenville; two sisters, Mrs. Dalton Gentry, Baldwyn and Mrs. H.O. Branyan, Saltillo; 13 grandchildren. Pallbearers were Devon Jones, Lonnie Reaves, Bonnie Reaves, Bobby Shan Medlin, Victor Reaves and Dale Reaves.
