Seen as child of Thomas Cressett of Upton & Jane Corbet
With regard to the church of St Eata, Atcham, Shropshire: “The only monument of note is that of Jocosa Burton, an incised slab brought from Old St. Chad’s, Shrewsbury, and dated 1524[1].

“Joyce has been suggested in various Pedigrees to be a Griffin, a Cressett and a Coyney. On balance, the most plausible evidence is that of the arms on the Monument now at Atcham, Shropshire, indicating that she was a Coyney.”
Children of Edward Burton
Birth surname has also been reported to be Cressett.
Given name has also been reported to be Jocosa.
Date and place of birth have also been (erroneously?) reported to be:
Date and place of marriage have also been erroneously reported to be 1430 at an unspecified location.
Date and place of death have also been erroneously reported to be 1477 at a forgotten location.

Richardson[8] indicated that the Joyce who married first Ralph Lane and second Edward Burton was the daughter of Robert Cressett and Christian Stapleton.
Burke[2] referred to the Joyce depicted with Edward Burton on his monument as Joyce Coyney but noted that his first wife was Joyce Griffin, daughter of Harry Griffin Esq.
On balance, the most plausible evidence is that of the arms on the Monument now at Atcham, Shropshire, indicating that one of his wives was a Coyney with mother Stapleton; and that one of his wives (probably his last wife) was a Joyce who was previously married to Ralph Lane.
Is it possible that he was married to three different women named Joyce?
