About Joyce K Reynolds

Joyce K. Reynolds was one of the original team that built the Internet.

While working at ISI (from 1979) with Jon Postel, she formed the original IANA team, which managed registrations for the early Internet, and was instrumental in the practical efforts of transferring the function to ICANN upon ICANN's creation in 1998.

She was his co-author on the TELNET specifications (RFC 854-861), and was the creator and first Area Director of the User Services area in the IETF (1990-1998), creating and curating the "FYI" subseries of the RFC series.

She served (with Jon) as the RFC Editor.

She received the Jonathan B. Postel service award in 2006 for her services to the Internet.
