Biography
Judith was the daughter of Henry Soane, 13th Speaker of the Virginia House of Burgesses.
Judith Soane was the second wife of Henry Randolph, then married Major Peter Field after Henry's death. Henry Randolph (1623-1673) was the son of William Randolph and Dorothy Lane, and the widower of Elizabeth.
By Henry, Judith had a son and two daughters:
- Capt. Henry Randolph (born about 16 Jan 1665 in Appomattoc, Chesterfield, Virginia). Married Sarah Swann.
- Martha Randolph (born after 1661)
- Judith Randolph (born 29 Jul 1671 in Appomattoc, Chesterfield, Virginia) (died young)
Major Peter Field (1647-1707) married Judith Soane on October 21, 1678, at Chickhominy, Charles County, Virginia as his first wife. He was the son of James Field.
She had two daughters by Peter Field:
- Mary Field (Born 3 Feb 1679 in Henrico, Colony of Virginia). Married Thomas Jefferson II. They were the parents of Peter Jefferson, the father of US President Thomas Jefferson.
- Martha Field (Born 23 Feb 1682 in Henrico County, Virginia). Married John Archer.
Judith Field died October 20, 1696 at Henrico County, and her widower married Alice Bradbridge, widow of Henry Wyatt in 1706.
Peter Field, born 1645 in Henrico, Virginia, USA; died 24 July, 1707 in New Kent, Virginia, USA. He was the son of James Field. He married Judith Soane 21 October, 1678 in Chickahominy, Virginia, USA. Judith Soane, born 1646 in Litlington, East, Suffolk, England; died 20 October, 1696 in Henrico, Virginia, USA. She was the daughter of Henry Soane and Judeth Fuller.

The suggestion he married Judith Moryson is unfounded: 4 W. & M. pp. 126-127; 9 W. & M. (2) p. 144. The latter writer fancifully suggests that Judith Randolph, sister of Henry Randolph I, came from England to Va. and married Maj. Peter Field in 1642. Judith Soane Randolph m.
