Juel Pauline Palmer

uel Pauline Palmer, age 74, of Conklintown, W.Va., went to be with the Lord early Saturday morning, October 29, 2011, at the Iredell Memorial Hospital, Statesville, N.C. after a long illness. Born April 3, 1937 in Welch, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Harry Forrest and Eva Forrest Rose. She was a member of the Conklintown Church of God. She was a homemaker, she loved to cook, and she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a resident of the Anawalt/Conklintown area most of her life. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, James "Jim" Palmer on March 3, 2009; one son, John Wayne Palmer; one brother, Jimmy Forrest. She is survived by five sons, Robert Palmer and wife Judy of O’Toole, W.Va., James Palmer Jr. and wife Nancy of Bluewell, W.Va., Randall Palmer and wife Pamela of Conklintown, W.Va., Rex Palmer and wife Carol of East Bend, N.C., David Palmer and wife Kim of Abbs Valley, Va.; one daughter, Sandra Grose and husband James of East Bend, N.C.; 11 grandchildren, Robert Palmer and wife Jessica of Abbs Valley, Va., Jason Palmer and wife Misty of Indian Creek, W.Va., Scotty Palmer and wife Rebecca of Welch, W.Va., Julia Spicer of East Bend, N.C., Rebekah Palmer of East Bend, N.C., Jamie Crews and husband Anthony of Princeton, W.Va., Holly Coe and husband Eulas of Abbs Valley, Va., Jesse and Ben Palmer of Abbs Valley, Va., James "Bubba" Grose and wife Sherri of Mt. Airy, N.C., Joshua Grose and wife Kayla of Winston-Salem, N.C., Logan Christian of Anawalt, W.Va.; five great-grandchildren, Hunter Palmer, Houston Palmer, Paisley Palmer, Karli Grace Palmer, and Aurora Crews; four sisters, Linda Turpin and husband Melvin of Skygusty, W.Va., Mary Owens of Princeton, W.Va., Sylvia Lawson and husband Jack of Martinsville, Va., Carolyn Finley and husband Danny of Jenkinjones, W.Va.; four brothers, Warren Forrest and wife Lois of Martinsville, Va., Kenny Forrest and wife Charlene of O’Toole, W.Va., Alonzo Forrest and wife of Virginia, Jesse Mitchem of Tennessee. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. at the Widener Funeral Home Chapel, Northfork, W.Va. with the Reverend Jerry Graham officiating. Burial will follow at the Woodlawn Memorial Park, Bluewell, W.Va. Friends may call Monday night from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Widener Funeral Home, Northfork, W.Va.
