Julia (Filla) Sobotta

Julia Sobotta, 98, of Arcadia died on Thursday, March 26, 2015, at Gundersen Tri County Care Center in Whitehall, WI. Julia was born on January 7, 1917, in Lewis Valley, Trempealeau Co. to Charles and Helen (Klimek) Filla.
Julia married Edmund J. Sobotta on February 3, 1937, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Independence, WI. Julia and Edmund farmed in rural Arcadia. She had been a member of St. Michaels’ Catholic Church and the Rosary Society. She was a member of Holy Family Parish.
Julia is survived by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren; son: La Vern (Marlette) Sobotta of Arcadia; their children: Lyman and Le Roy (Jodi Westphal) Sobotta; step grandchildren: Cheyenne and Dylan Wolfe: daughter: Helen Lois Bautch of Arcadia; her children: Kerry and Karen Bautch; grandchildren: Lacy (Dave Hjornevik) Sobotta; her children: Brynn, Kalyce , and Mckenzie; Mark (Chloe) Sobotta and their children: Camryn, Ayden and Julia; Lance Sobotta, Travis (Amy Pieterick) Sobotta, and Larissa Sobotta. She was preceded in death by her husband; son: Linus; daughter: Alice; siblings: Rufus (Martha) Filla, Ted (Bernice) Filla, Verna (Roy) Roskos, and Betty Jane Filla.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 30, 2015, at 11:00 AM at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in North Creek (rural Arcadia) with Rev. Sebastian Kolodziecjczyk and Rev. Woodrow Pace officiating. Friends may call on Sunday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Wozney-Killian Funeral Home where there will be a 7:00 PM prayer service. They may also call on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.
