Mrs. Julia Helen Skinner, 73-year-old former Ottumwan, died in South Gate, Calif., Wednesday at 9 a.m. She was born in Wapello county November 14, 1879, the daughter of Philip and Margaret Sullivan Horan. She had lived in and near Ottumwa until 1945 when she moved to California. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Dewey McCormick and Nellie, both of South Gate; three sons, Francis and Clarence, both of Ottumwa, and Charles of South Gate; two sisters, Mrs. Otto Buckholtz of Philip, S. D., and Mrs. Joe Lennon of Ottumwa; four brothers, Charles and John Horan, both of Ottumwa, Michael of Akron, Ohio, and Philip of Omaha, Neb. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Skinner, her parents, and one sister. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the Vaughan funeral home and at 10 o'clock at the St. Patrick's church. Burial will be in the Calvary cemetery.
