KEESING - At Auckland, March 1, Henry Keesing, jun., aged 71, beloved father of B H Keesing, Market-street, Sydney.

The Australasian Hebrew Sydney Fri 13 Mar 1896;

News was received in Sydney on Monday last of the death of Mr. Henry Keesing, of Auckland, father of a respected co-religionist, resident here. Mr. Keesing passed away at the ripe age of 71, leaving behind him, in the place where he had so long resided, an honored and respected name. He was the oldest member of the Auckland Hebrew Congregation, in whose affairs he took a deep private interest. Although by nature averse to public life, he was on terms of friendship, even intimacy, with the leading men of the sister colony, and in particular he enjoyed the confidence of the veteran, Sir George Grey, who made it a point to visit him whenever he left, or returned to the colony. Shiva was duly observed at his son’s residence, in Ormond-street, Paddington, during the week of mourning, when a large contingent of New Zealand friends regularly assembled for prayer.
