JULIETTE HUXLEY, the sculptor and writer, was the doyenne of one of Britain's most distinguished intellectual families and one of the last survivors of the Bloomsbury group that gathered around the novelist Virginia Woolf, the biographer Lytton Strachey and the hostess Lady Ottoline Morrell in the inter-war years.
In 1915, at the age of 19, Juliette Baillot came to England to work as a French teacher. By chance her first employer was Ottoline Morrell, who lived at Garsington Manor, near Oxford. She …
