June (40), was strangled by her 21 year old gardener she employed at their farm/smallholding at Broederstroom, near Pelindaba, after which he robbed R300 and set the house on fire. He was apprehended not too long after that, and received the death penalty.

June was 40 years-old when she was murdered by the family's gardener on their farm in September 1982.
