June E. Peck, age 94, of DuBois, Pa., formerly of Athens, Pa., died Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2016 at Christ the King Manor.
Born on July 16, 1922 in Lake Placid, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late David and Nancy (Winch) Bickford.
June retired from Marine Midland Bank in Waverly, N.Y., after a 30-year banking career. She was always active in her church, often serving as the church treasurer. She loved children. She worked as a "surrogate grandma" for a Head Start Program until she was 88 years old.
She is survived by three grandchildren (Dr. Eric Peck and his wife Charity of DuBois, Pa.; Heather Klossner and her husband Chris of Barton, N.Y.; and Brett Peck and his wife Miranda of Cleveland, Ga.) and seven great-grandchildren (Sadie, Egan, Cade, Emma, Kyan, Cole, and Titus Peck).
She was preceded in death by her son (Timothy Peck), three sisters (Jennie, Octavia, and Marie) and five brothers (Dave, Sheridan, Dean, Paul, and Press).
There will be no public visitation.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2016 at 10 a.m. from the Chapel at Christ the King Manor with Pastor Terry Felt officiating.
Memorials may be placed with Christ the King Manor, 1100 West Long Ave., DuBois, PA 15801.
The Goble-Baronick Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
