Died at his home at Wooddale, Saturday, April 15, after an illness of four months. He was taken sick about Christmas with grip which was followed by complications. April 5 he suffered a stroke of paralysis and died April 15. He was born Aug. 31, 1853 at Addison and has spent most of his life here. He was confirmed at Zion church under Rev. Grosse. In 1879 he married Emmeline Blecke. Four children were born to them, two of whom died in childhood. Besides the widow two married daughters survive, Mrs. Albert Schaper and Mrs. Geo. Hoppenstedt, also three grandchildren besides his aged mother, seven brothers and three sisters. Funeral services were held from the home and at St. Luke's church, Itasca, Wednesday, April 19, Rev. Zersen conducting both services. Interment at St. Lukes cemetery
