Boddum Church

Tombstone 1 c. 1625, above Hr. Christen Jensøn, born in Nykiøbing paa Mors, parish priest of Yby, Baadum and Hurup, provost in Revfs Herred for 29 years, died 12 April 1625, aged 64, and wife Karen Nielsdatter, born in Rinskiobing (!), died 7 July 1625, 52 years old. Öland Limestone, 205 × 120 cm. Inscription with relief capitals. The rectangular writing field is surrounded by a frame, with stiff Renaissance volutes, broken top piece, and the hanging ornament shows the initials H I C and K N D. The corner circles of the stone are cross-divided with Evangelist symbols above name cartouches. Margin in Latin and Danish: "Christus mihi vita mors lucrum (ɔ: Christus is my life, death is my gain) Christus is my life and resurrection son (!)". In the south Choir wall, formerly in the Choir floor.
