The ship "Wilhelmsburg" made its departure from Hamburg in mid-October 1858 under Captain I.C.H. Müller Stopover in Cape Town. A group of 150 families of the ships 'Wilhelmsburg', 'Peter Godeffroy' and 'Johan Cesar' finished the journey in Cape Town. Some of them settled in Wynberg and are marked by a (W). Arrival in East London in what was then Kaffraria on 13 January 1859 (in front of the 'Peter Godeffroy') with the remaining 128 families on board.
