"Karl Gustav von Patkul ( 5 May 1686 Vaidava ( Waidau ), Livonian Province - 26 May 1750 ) was a Swedish - Russian soldier ( colonel ; 1736 ), landlord and Livonian councilor . [1]
He was born the son of Karl Friedrich von Patkul (1661–1697) and Gertrude Elisabeth von Pfeil. His doll was the famous Livonian nobleman Johann Reinhold von Patkul (1660–1707). [1]
Karl Gustav von Patkul joined the Swedish army and rose in 1709 . to the rank of chief master . On July 8, at the Battle of Poltava between Swedish and Russian forces, he was taken prisoner by the Russians and sentenced to settle in Tobolsk , from which he was not released until 1722 . in. [2]
Returning from Siberia , he entered the service of the Russian Empire as a knight, and his place of service was that of the Velikiye Luk infantry regiment . 1731 . he was a knight of the cavalry army. [3]
February 16, 1736, he was on his own behest of the service of the Riga garrison and became a colonel of rank. In 1738 . in the year he resigned. [3]
He owned the manors of Ķieģeļi ( Kegel ) and Podzēni ( Podsen ) in Livonia . [1]"
