Karl Henrik Merlin was student in Åbo (Vib) 1751, registration in student association 6 Jul; adjunct of vicar in Nykyrka (Viborgs län) 1756-1758; was schoolmaster in the Finnish church in S:t Petersburg and undoubtedly at the same time adjunct there; was by the consistory of Viborg nominated as "nådårspredikant" (mercy years preacher) for the chaplain in Jakimvaara Dec 1762 with right to be permanent chaplain there by the end of "nådår"; he was nominated 12 Dec 1765.
