"Casper Knoble also borne as Kasper Knoble resided in New Glarus, Green County, Wisconsin. At the time of his mustering in as a Private, Company B, 31st Wisconsin Infantry, on August 22nd 1862. He passed away on March 17th 1865, at Mc Dougall General Hospital, Fort Schuyler, New York Harbor of disease. He was married to Dorothea Knoble and was guardian to Abraham Knoble. She applied for his military pension on June 23rd 1865, application # 99177, certificate # 60447, and for Abraham on August 3rd 1865, application # 131061, certificate # 82360." [This makes sense as a marriage date for his brother Abraham Knobel 1841-1932]
