About Casper Scheib
In the 1580's he attended the universities of Heidelberg and Tubingen. In 1588 he took up the post of pastor of the Reformed church in Oderheim am Glan in the state of Pfalz-Zweibrucken, in what is now part of the West German state of Rheinland-Pfalz. He held this until his death. Casper was the progenitor of a long line of Scheibs in Oderheim; today most of the town's 2,000 people trace their ancestry to Casper, and the Scheib surname is still common.
