About Katharina Isaac
It has pleased the Lord to take home our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Katherine Isaac, the daughter of John and Anna (Barkman) Friesen. She was born in the Kleefeld area on Nov. 25, 1879, and passed away May 13, 1969 at the Extended Care Unit, Steinbach, at the age of 89 years, 5 months and 18 days.
Mother had resided in the Greenland Home the last 7 years and was physically active until her fall in Jan. when she broke a thigh.
She was married to our father Abr. L. Isaac on Nov. 26, 1904 and moved to Aberdeen, Sask., where they lived for a number of years and experienced the hardships of pioneer life.
In the spring of 1913, realizing their lost condition they were baptized upon their faith after repentance and forgiveness of sin and accepted into the fellowship of the Church of God in Christ, to which they remained faithful.
Their union was blessed with two sons and five daughters. Father preceded mother in death in April 1962. Their youngest son, Leonard, died in 1940. They shared the joys and sorrows of married life for over 57 years.
She leaves to mourn her departure one son, Daniel and wife Katherine, Sinclair, Man.; and 5 daughters: Elsie, Mrs. Leader; Lilly and Toney Reed, of Winnipeg; Nellie and Peter Fast; Julia and Klass Barkman; Lenore and Henry Isaac, of Kleefeld; 20 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and one sister.
We as the family are thankful that God has relieved mother of her suffering and has taken her home to rest.-The Family
