10 September 1708: Contract of marriage between Hugh Montgomery of Coilsfield on the one part and Katharine Arbuckle relict of unquhile John Hamilton, baillie of the Abbey of Holyroodhouse on the other part, whereby in consideration of the marriage to be solemnised between them the said Hugh binds himself to infeft Katharine Arbuckle his future spouse in liferent in an annuity of £1000 Scots to be uplifted yearly furth of the said lands.
