Friends of Mrs. John Peck, wife of Mrs. John Peck, pioneer resident of Margaret township, will be grieved to learn that this good woman died early Saturday morning at a Minot hospital. Friday afternoon she submitted to an operation for gall stones and died a few hours afterward. She had been troubled with gall stones for a number of years, but they had not bothered her seriously until recently.
Funeral services were held at the Catholic church in Glenburn Tuesday forenoon and were attended by a large number of the friends of the family. The funeral sermon was preached by Rev. Father Schmitt, of whose congregation the deceased had been a long and faithful member. The body was laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery of Glenburn.
The deceased is survived by her husband and seven children, five girls and two boys. The oldest boy is married as are the two oldest girls. The youngest child is twelve years. She would have been 49 years old had she lived until November.
Mrs. Peck came to North Dakota from Chelsea Iowa, and for four years the family resided near Grafton, moving southeast of Glenburn in the spring of 1902. Here she made her home until death called her from all earthly cares. She was a good woman who took an active interest in the welfare of her community, and her death is mourned not only by her immediate family but by a long list of friends. ~ The Glenburn Advance, Page 1, October 21, 1920, Thursday,
