About Keali'iokaloa
Keali'iokaloa 1500 - 1545 was the 15th Alii Aimoku of Hawaii 1525 - 1545. He was the sovereign king or chief of the island of Hawaii.
Keali'iokaloa was the eldest son of 'Umi-a-Liloa, 14th Alii Aimoku of Hawaii, by his third wife and half-sister, Alii Kapukini-a-Liloa, daughter of Liloa, 12th Alii Aimoku of Hawaii. He succeeded on the death of his father in the year 1525. In 1545 he was later deposed by his younger brother Keawe-nui-a-'Umi.
He married first Maku-wahine-a-palaka. Then second Helu'anuu and third Hika'alani. He died in 1545, having had issue, a son Alii Kukailani.
Anyone desiring to know more about this ancient kupuna, and his son,....
should visit Dean Kekoolani's ohana database! There is an ancient tragedy in more ways than one, that we know of but seldom speak of on the internet.
Dean does a great job dealing with mo'olelo in a professional manner. Lptm
older brother of Keawenuiaumi

In other words, you ask whether I know if a person today with an ohana surname of Kaloa might be a descendant line leading into the past, right up to this Mo'i? Yes?
No, I do not know such for sure; such knowledge would come from the "dedicated" kanaka maoli-trained genealogist still living today... wth the kuleana to share such information on that shortened surname wth secret charts, documents given/taught them...
before their kupuna passed....
that help her/him/them find the research that still is able to establish such a path back into the ancient past.
I am not that person.
My apologies!
With love and much aloha, from Puanani/Nani Ontai Tilton Matsumoto, Lptm

I do know that this Mo'i name and his key descending lines have tragic mo'olelo attached to it, him and them....,
so that ancient kupuna may very well have decided not to send genealogy information for their future keiki.
To free them to succeed without such spiritual, cultural, ethnic....baggage.
Best wishes, cousin!

The Mo'olelo is out for us to read, but I do not want to even point to it,.... for it would be hewa for me to do so,....
since my ancients were the victors in the tragedies.
When I first studied the mo'olelo, the content tormented me for months. Lptm
