Lib and Claus great to talk to you this am here is the info re Uncle Keith ( Grandpa Grant's Brother ) Uncle Keith went to the first W War and fought in France ,do not think he went to Gallipoli ,Keith was gassed and was sent to England to recuperate at Cobham Hall in Kent ,a stately home ,there is a photo of him with other Officers leaning over the parapet of an outside Terrace at Cobham Hall ,when I first went to the UK I went and visited Cobham Hall and proudly stood in the same place , Michael Grant took me there. Keith presumably returned to France and then to the UK ,he met his future wife there , Aunty Ivy ,who according to Mum was a beautiful woman. Keith returned to his work he was Bank Manager ( Bank of Adelaide I think ) in the Midnorth of SA, sadly died there in 1924/6 due to the effects of being gassed. Keith and Ivy had one child Bruce ( Michael Grants Father, who was killed on the last days of WW2 from a motor bike accident . Forgot to mention though obvious after Keith's demise Ivy and Baby Bruce returned to the UK where Ivy married Colonel Picking (hence Michael Grants relationship with that family) I feel and will research that Keith and Ivy had a another baby that died in infancy and is buried at Brinkworth Mid North SA, where Keith is buried and there is quite a large section of the local Museum set aside for Keith . Michael Grant visited this last time in SA with Ray Duthy (who married Kathy Worthley) her Mother was Aunty Ruth ,Uncle Uleys daughter ) correct name Ulysses William Cecil Grant who was a lovely man .We have and will find it and scan it a good article from the Brinkworth Recorder circa 1924 hope this helps not bad for a potted history !!! must record all this in Family Bible Gregory!!
