In the (2) marriage record, they were: “KierWouters,Wedr. Van Jannetje Jans, en Lysbeth Davids Ackerman.”
Kier Wolters, the ancestor of the Kiersen and Kiers (Kees) family, arrived here in 1657...from the Dutch county of Drenthe;
coming via Amsterdam to New Amstel on the Delaware, where he was reputed to be one of the ablest and best farmers.
Listed as a passenger on the ship "Purmerlander Kerck" (Church of Purmerland) Kier Wolters from Drendt, with wife and six children. "Three Lists of Passengers To New Amstel" by A. R. Dunlap. pg. 310
Two years later, flattering offers being made him, he came to New Amsterdam, and had the charge of Governor Stuyvesant’s
bouwery.
He took De Meyer’s farm at Harlem, in the fall of 1667...and worked it for two seasons.
He moved about 1669 to Fordham. (Fordham Manor, NY)
In May 1670 Michiel Bastiensen [Kortrycht], residing at Fordham, was appointed curator of the estate of Kier Woltersen,
