Excerpt from The Starbuck Times Jan. 22, 1931 pg. 1;

He moved with his parents, Claus & Annie Knutson to Gilchrist township, Pope Co., MN. shortly afterwards, coming at the time the Indians were rebellious and pioneer life was dangerous as well as difficult.

He married Dorthia and 4 sons and 4 daughters were born to them. The children are Mrs. H. Lee, Brooten, MN., Nils and Andrew Clausen of Sunburg, Mrs. John Sharpness, Kerkhoven, Mrs. Olan Hanson, Brooten, Alfred Clausen, also Brooten, Rosie Landsperk, Sunburg & Claus Knutson of Starbuck,who died following an automobile accident a year ago last summer. Mrs. Clausen & the other children survive, as well as 21 grandchildren.
