The Rev. Oscar Mikkelson was in charge of the funeral sevices Tuesday for Knute H. Myli. Mr. Myli died Saturday, Nov. 28 at the age of 80 years and 21 days.

A family prayer service in the chapel of First Lutheran church preceded the last rites in the church auditorium. Burial was in North Shell Rock cemetery. Casket bearers were Hartwick Mellem, Clarence Mellem, Harold Mellem, Carlin Mellem, Rudolph Myli and Morris Feley.

Knute H. Myli wa born Nov. 7, 1879, near Hanlontown, the son of Halgrim and Ingeborg Myli. As a small child, Mr. Myli was spared twice from death. At birth he was in frail health for a time. Later, at 15 months a windstrom struck the home and Knute was blown, with the house, into a field where he was found later unhurt.

Knute later moved with the family to a farm in Hartland township and there cared for his invalid father for many years. For the past 16 years Mr. Myli lived in Northwood.

He was preceded in death by his parents. four sisters and three brothers.

Surviving is one brother, Erick H. Myli, Northwood.
