About LaVerne Casper Greenwold
LaVerne C. Greenwold, 62, Chetek, Wis., died Thursday, Oct. 30, 2003, at Knapp Haven Nursing Home, Chetek.
He was born May 13, 1941, at Barron, the son of Casper and Emma (Hanson) Greenwold. He grew up in Barron out on the "Poor Farm Road." He attended Barron High School.
He hauled milk for Lester Erickson before working on road construction. He later worked at the Wisconsin Dairy Plant, Barron, for 20 years.
He married Nancy Erickson on June 17, 1993, at Barron. He lived in Hillsdale for many years before the couple moved to their house on Prairie Lake near Chetek.
He enjoyed fishing and gardening. He played guitar for many years and enjoyed playing music with his brothers.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Melissa (Rueben) Gardner of Callahan, Fla.; sons, Loren and Craig, both of Chetek; four grandchildren; step-children, Debi (Marc) Peters of Sun Prairie, Kim Sunderlage of Madison and Lisa Kreul of Fennimore; two step-granddaughters; a step great-granddaughter; sisters, Ellen Louis of Hillsdale and Lenore Berg of Barron; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Leonard, Edwin and Trygve; and sisters, Ida Knowlton and Edna Lewis.
Services were held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 3, from Rausch-Rockman Funeral Chapel, Barron, Rev. Ralph Marquardt officiating.
Visitation was held 1:00-2:30 p.m. Monday from the funeral home.
