Lady Bridget Bertie was born on 6 June 1629. She was the daughter of Montagu Bertie, 2nd Earl of Lindsey and Martha Cokayne.1 She married Sir Thomas Osborne, 1st Duke of Leeds, son of Sir Edward Osborne, 1st Bt. and Anne Walmesley, in 1651.2 She died on 7 January 1704 at age 74.

    Her married name became Osborne. As a result of her marriage, Lady Bridget Bertie was styled as Viscountess Oseborne of Dunblane on 2 February 1673. As a result of her marriage, Lady Bridget Bertie was styled as Countess of Danby on 27 June 1674. As a result of her marriage, Lady Bridget Bertie was styled as Marchioness of Carmarthen on 9 April 1689. As a result of her marriage, Lady Bridget Bertie was styled as Duchess of Leeds on 4 March 1694.
