From the Diary of Emma Pegoth wife of the Vicar of Hughenden 1837

I am also attaching a copy of some notes that Charlie had made from his father, Charles of Godmanchester.

When my little son Aubrey died our kind squire his wife and Lady Young compassionately followed with his old nurse who lived with them till she was 93. I remember Aubrey playing with William and George Young their father Sir William had married the lovely and elegant Caroline Norris. My two sons visiting Hughenden in 1872 found a funeral. “Lady Young” died so strangely and accidentally they assisted at her burying, as she had so kindly done many years before when their little brother was laid in an adjoining grave.

She died 15th February 1871, at the age of 61 years, in Kensington, London. Ref: The Vicar's stall - Hughenden, (2014) by Christopher Tyrer, Churchwarden)
